Good idea to read it aloud. Maybe it's also good to record it while reading and then listening to it.
I tried recording short pieces, but it does take quite a long time to go back and listen. I think it would be useful for short sections that are supposed to be particularly lyrical. I bet that would also help when trying to get the dialogue to sound right.
